Imagine knowing only a tiny cage as your whole world for the first six months of your life. But that sadly was the reality for one growing dog. That tiny enclosure is where this rescue pup spent every day until the team from @wearehappydoggo finally arrived. The moment Timothée spots people standing outside his tiny cage, his tail is already wagging. He comes forward to sniff an outstretched hand and jumps up excitedly against the wire. At that point, everyone believes the hardest part is over. It turns out they’re only just beginning to understand what this little dog has been through.

One volunteer reaches through the wire, giving Timothée a chance to sniff their hand before clipping on a leash. The young Husky’s whole body wiggles with excitement. He even stands up to greet them, tail going nonstop, looking as though he’d been hoping someone would walk through that gate. Then the side of the enclosure comes down, and cheers break out around him as he’s lifted to safety. Without any hesitation, he climbs straight into the travel crate waiting nearby.
For a moment, it really feels like this is the happy ending everyone had been hoping for. Back at the rescue, though, something isn’t right. Timothée eagerly walks up to greet more people, but his back legs keep folding underneath him. Every few steps, they buckle again. Outside on the grass, it’s even easier to see. He wants to explore every corner of his new surroundings, yet his body simply can’t keep up.
According to the rescue, six months inside such a confined space left him with almost no muscle in his hind legs. Instead of learning to run, play, and chase after toys like most puppies his age, he’d spent those first months barely able to move. Now he’ll need extensive rehabilitation before he can enjoy the kind of puppyhood he should have had all along.
Even so, Timothée never seems to lose his spark. He continues greeting everyone he meets, happily accepting attention from the people now determined to help him heal. The video has already drawn more than 37,000 likes, with viewers rallying behind his recovery.
