If you need a laugh today, @cactustherescue just posted a video of what happens when a rescue dog tries to use his best park moves on a cat who is absolutely not interested in playing. Cactus was rescued from the California desert and now lives with his new big brother, Miso. Their owner, Michael Henry, captures their daily life for over 559,000 fans. Cactus is currently trying to figure out why his small roommate has such a short fuse. He seems to think they are the same species despite the size difference, and their latest interaction is peak sibling comedy.

Owner reveals what rescue dog believes about cat sibling

The footage opens with Cactus looking playfully at Miso, who is just minding his own business on the rug. But going by the cat’s expression, he definitely knows a storm is coming soon. Next, we see Cactus drop into several play bows and start wagging his tail, but Miso is very wary of these sudden movements. He eventually decides to make a break for it.

Cactus follows him immediately. This rescue dog just wants to wrestle with his cat sibling, and he thinks this is absolutely okay because it’s how everyone plays at the park. Miso stops running and decides to stand his ground. He pounces on Cactus to show who really runs the show here. Cactus retreats for a second but comes right back.

Michael says in the caption that Cactus is fully convinced Miso is just a weird little dog with an attitude. The kitty starts smacking him right in the face, which makes Cactus take a few steps back to avoid the tiny paws. But this rescue dog is too stubborn to quit, so he stays near his cat brother.

The video ends with an intense stare-off with neither one wanting to be the first to blink. Suddenly, they both get startled at the same time and break out of it. Miso might not be having it right now, but he still lets Cactus hang out nearby. This rescue dog and his cat brother have clearly come a long way from their initial days together. They are finally figuring out how to coexist in the same living room.
