Keeping a house tidy is usually a never-ending job for any pet owner. But it gets even trickier when a new family member is arriving soon. Over at @gamjamypotato, one very helpful Golden Retriever is taking his big brother duties very seriously. Chip is currently going viral for helping his pregnant mom tackle the clutter on the living room floor.
According to their bio, Chip and his sister Gamja are famously sweet and smart. And Chip just seems to understand that his human needs a little extra help right now.
Golden Retriever picks up his toys and puts them away to help pregnant mom
The video opens with toys scattered across the rug while Mom films from the couch. She asks Chip if he can clean up, and he immediately gets to work. He grabs a toy and trots over to a corner basket to drop it in. The in-video text explains he is just a good boy helping his “prego mama” clean the house. Every time he drops a toy inside, he looks back at Mom for a bit of approval.
His pregnant mom keeps the encouragement coming with plenty of “thank yous” and “good boys”. This Golden Retriever wags his tail because he clearly knows he is doing a great job.
Some toys are given a quick victory lap around the room before landing in the basket. Others go straight to the destination without any extra fuss.
Chip keeps checking in on Mom to make sure he is following every rule. When she tells him it is the last one, he finishes the task with complete flair. Mom cheers him on and even calls him over for a high five. His owner mentioned that “it’s getting harder and harder to pick up things” lately, and Chip and Gamja have stepped up to help with everything from mail to leashes.
The chores do not stop with just the toys. Mom gives him a ziplock bag and asks him to take it to “Appa” in the kitchen. Chip carries it straight to his father and waits for more praise. He then runs back to the living room for some well-deserved head scritches. Fans in the comments are calling him a “professional helper” and the goodest boy.
One viewer joked that they hope he was “paid in treats” according to labor laws. Others are simply excited to see him meet his new human sibling soon.
