A Golden Retriever has left TikTok users laughing after a video showed him becoming completely absorbed in a tennis match. The clip was shared by Hannah Thayer, who posts on TikTok as @hannahraethayer. According to text included in the video, what began as a routine walk quickly changed course when the dog noticed strangers playing tennis at a court inside the park.
“Took our golden for a walk and made a stop through the park only for him to fixate on some strangers’ tennis game,” the text reads. The dog’s fascination was immediate and intense. As the match unfolded, he raced back and forth along the perimeter of the court, carefully tracking the ball as it moved between players.
If you’re familiar with the breed, you may not be all that surprised by the reaction. Golden Retrievers are well known for their love of fetch, and tennis balls are among their favorite toys. For this dog, seeing a tennis ball being hit around may have seemed like the ultimate invitation to play.
The video shows him pacing excitedly beside the fence, looking for a way to get closer. His enthusiasm quickly won over viewers, many of whom joked that he looked convinced the match was really an elaborate fetch session.
