Fussy infants usually have a team of exhausted parents trying absolutely everything to get them back to sleep. However, an incredibly sweet canine decided to take matters into his own paws to help out around the house. A heartwarming video posted by @winston.goldenpupp features a beautiful Golden Retriever using gentle touch to calm down a crying baby. The protective pup stood guard right next to the bassinet to monitor his new sibling. What he does next is currently melting hearts all across social media today.
Golden Retriever uses his paw to comfort crying baby
The footage shows a tiny newborn wrapped snugly in a swaddle blanket inside a bedside bassinet. The little boy is squirming and crying, which instantly makes Winston stand up on the big mattress to peer over the edge of the cot. Next in the video, we see the Golden Retriever lean down intuitively to give the baby a few thorough sniffs to check on his well-being.
And then he does something incredibly sweet. He extends his large front paw and rests it directly on the child’s little body to soothe him. The simple gesture seemed to help the infant calm down right away.
Mom walks over to adjust the infant’s pacifier. That’s when Winston politely moves his paw back. But he still keeps it planted firmly on the edge of the cot just in case he needs to step back in. The song playing in the background, “Nothing’s Gonna Hurt You Baby,” somehow makes the scene feel even sweeter.
The sweet pup just wanted to ensure his little brother felt completely safe. The owner posted the clip with a short caption stating they were simply reminiscing about the old days. The heartwarming clip collected over 1.2k likes from delighted viewers on Instagram who couldn’t get enough of the sweetest moment. One emotional fan commented about the paw with a row of crying emojis.
Time moves incredibly fast. And that tiny newborn has already grown into an active toddler who loves playing with his best friend. He can even reach his small hands through the wooden bars of his crib to pet Winston directly now.
