A video shared online shows Shmoo patiently standing watch until she confirms that every member of her family is headed home.

While her mom is ready to head indoors, Shmoo appears reluctant to cross the threshold. She stops and turns her attention toward the driveway, watching closely for someone who has yet to arrive.
As she films the moment, Shmoo’s mom narrates what appears to be going through the dog’s mind. “Shmoo, you don’t want to go in without dad,” she says. “Leave no dad behind?” The dog’s focused gaze suggests that’s exactly what she has in mind.
