A backyard bird feeder is supposed to attract Cardinals, Finches, and the occasional curious Sparrow. But a thirsty Golden Retriever named Copper completely hijacked his mom’s brand-new garden setup to create the ultimate outdoor hydration station.

The Instagram reel starts with Copper standing squarely in front of the stone structure. His mom is filming from a distance while he takes big, enthusiastic gulps. And he is definitely not being neat about it either. Water is splashing everywhere as he laps it up from the bowl of the feeder.
Pups of this breed are known to be obsessed with any water source. However, this pooch decided a standard bowl simply wasn’t fancy enough. He keeps sipping away until he is totally satisfied, and then he turns his head, looks straight into the camera, and casually struts away.
The on-screen text jokes that mom saw the most beautiful “bird” outside this morning. But the reality of a giant Golden Retriever hogging the bird feeder is just pure comedy. His owner was clearly expecting a few feathered visitors instead of a heavy-shedding pup.
